Our story began when Dr. Mehdi and Dr. Khan realized the clinical gap that existed for mental health illnesses.
At the time, the only place where people could be seen was the emergency department or their PCPs.

The emergency department was not conducive to patients with mental health disorders as it was a chaotic and disruptive environment.
At Urgent Psych, we were on a mission to revolutionize the world of mental health by leading the way with our novel approach to early intervention and early recognition.

An outstanding community psychiatrist, Dr. Mehdi has practiced in Atlanta for over 12 years and has healed over 30,000 patients with mental health illnesses. Dr Medhi completed his residency at Pennsylvania State University and then went on to complete his Sleep fellowship at Detroit Medical Center. He resides in Atlanta with his wife and three kids.

A leader in Emergency Medicine, Dr Khan has practiced for over 18 years in Atlanta Georgia. She has held various leadership roles including Chief of Emergency Services at Emory Decatur and Hillandale Hospital, Current Chief of Staff for Emory Decatur and Chairwoman of Dekalb County of Hospital Authority. She resides in Atlanta with her husband and two daughters.
